Kelsey Gogarty is an Educational Therapist and Certified Nutritionist in the San Diego Area and the founder of Roots of Learning. She received her B.A. in Psychology along with a minor in Business Administration from Sonoma State University in 2004, and she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Therapy from Holy Names University in Oakland, Ca in 2011. With over a decade of experience, Kelsey has gained a wide breadth of knowledge in the field of education through her work as a Montessori teacher, an academic tutor for students of all ages, and a 1:1 educational therapist. Kelsey served as both an assistant director and educational therapist at La Jolla Learning Works for three years, and she is currently a substitute teacher and Assistant in the Arrowsmith program at Horizon Christian Preparatory. In addition, Kelsey provides a full range of educational therapy and nutritional consulting services though her private practice, Roots of Learning.
Kelsey’s Master’s thesis, Nutritional Intervention and Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder: The Influence of Nutrition on ADD/ADHD Behavior, inspired her to pursue a certification in Clinical Nutrition from the National Healing Institute in San Diego. Kelsey seeks to combine her educational and nutritional expertise for those seeking a more holistic approach to learning differences.
Once a struggling learner herself, Kelsey is passionate about providing students the tools they need to achieve academic success and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
